Ayesha had lived in her unit for three months, but she didn't know her neighbours.

One evening, she made a big pot of chicken biryani. It was far too much for one person.

She had an idea. She put some biryani into two containers and knocked on her neighbours' doors.

The first neighbour, an older man called Bill, was surprised. "For me? That's very kind! It smells amazing."

The second neighbour was a young couple, Sophie and Dan. "We just got home from work and we were too tired to cook!" said Sophie.

A few days later, Bill knocked on Ayesha's door with the clean container. Inside was a packet of Anzac biscuits.

"My late wife's recipe," he said.

On Sunday, Sophie and Dan invited Ayesha for a barbecue. Now the three units share food almost every week.
