Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as Pearson's scoring?
No. It's an estimate built on Pearson's published traits and score levels. Form and spelling are checked closely; content, grammar and range are estimated with simple, transparent rules. Use it to find what to fix.
Do you keep my essay?
No. The checker runs entirely in your browser. Your writing is never sent to us or stored.
Why is a correct word marked as a spelling mistake?
Our dictionary has about 80,000 words, plus Australian, British and American spellings. Rare words, brand names or new terms may be missing. Names in capitals mid-sentence and words from the prompt are skipped.
